Support for .lu domain name owners
A significant number of technical problems are settled directly between the accredited registrar and the domain name owner. The registrars place a mediating layer between the owner and the .lu registry, and that layer is not known to the .lu registry. Therefore, the registrar is the first point of contact for its customer, the domain name holder. It is the registrar who can correct most of the technical problems.
The .lu registry may, however, provide owners with additional information and explanations if they are having trouble understanding. Beyond that, it is the registry alone that decides whether it needs to get involved, particularly with the registrar in charge of managing the domain name.
The only direct contact between the .lu registry and the .lu domain name owner takes place if a domain name is being traded or its management is being transferred.

A DNS server or names server is a computer connected to the Internet. It contains information about the services related to a domain name and answers any queries about this information. For example, it translates a domain name into an IP address to enable access to a website/s and/or email inboxes linked to a domain name.
