On December 2022, Dr Guillaume-Jean Herbiet, .lu service technical manager, will once again speak to the Digital Learning Hub (DLH) students, a continuing professional education structure in Luxembourg.
A theoretical workshop introducing the Domain Name System (DNS) will complement a technical workshop - tried and tested during the previous course - dedicated to DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) and its functioning. These two concepts are closely associated since implementing DNSSEC on the DNS infrastructure makes it possible to secure an online presence and ensure the security of domain names.
DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) technology authenticates DNS records using cryptographic keys to ensure that each domain fits perfectly into a trusted chain within the tree of the Internet-based naming system.
INTRODUCTION TO THE DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM (8 and 9 December 2022)
On 8 and 9 December 2022, within the ‘Introduction to the Domain Name System’ course, participants will obtain a theoretical and practical knowledge of DNS zone management operations, with a focus on security, including:
- a clear overview of the DNS namespace;
- a comprehensive knowledge of the DNS protocol;
- a complete understanding of the DNS resolution process;
- an introduction to domain name management;
- a focus on DNS threats and privacy/security concerns in the DNS;
- a hands-on implementation of a DNS zone management infrastructure.
Location : Digital Learning Hub – Esch/Belval
Date: 8 and 9 December 2022, from 14:00 to 17h00 and from 9:00 to 17:00
Language: English
SECURE DNS INFRASTRUCTURE WITH DNSSEC (16 December 2022)
On 16 December 2022, the ‘Secure DNS infrastructure with DNSSEC’ learning course is designed for professionals with previous DNS experience or responsible for the DNS service wishing to implement DNSSEC in their organisation. At the end of the training day, learners will be able to:
- understand DNS and DNSSEC principles;
- implement DNSSEC in simple and complex architectures with standard open-source software;
- manage DNSSEC cryptographic keys (roll-over process);
- validate and troubleshoot DNSSEC signing;
- learn about DNSSEC best practices.
Location: Digital Learning Hub – Esch/Belval
Date: 16 December 2022, from 9:00 à 17:00
